Want to win Google's trust? Here is what to do

The keyword is trust. Underline that. Before any search is made by users, Google treats all websites as equals and potential candidates for the top ranks. After the search is made, Google has to index all relevant sites to pick the most relevant. It's what search engines do best. And that's where trust comes in. would you pick a spouse you really don't trust? That would be a disaster.

Foe years, things were running smoothly with Google checking on several factors to determine the sites being searched for. That went on until some hungry site owners made it a game. Scam content, auto generated links and other black hat SEO tricks could work. People could get rich using these tricks. But Google has come out stronger to kill all the black hat SEO strategies. Every site has to battle for the top spot or else risk fines and penalties. While many used to view SEO as a quick way to succeed online, things have changed. Due to the many trust requirements by Google, SEO strategies are slow and steady processes. You have to undergo through a series of pains before getting there. But once you are there, things will change for the better. So, what wraps up Google's trust on your site?

Website age

Get me right here, it's not the number of years your website has lived, but the number of years it has been indexed by Google. When did your presence online start being felt by Google? I meant it when I said SEO takes time and your patience. A brand new site in this case will have a hard time convincing Google that they got what it takes. A site that has been consistently indexed and has shown signs of improvement will get better ranks than a fresh site.

Content in depth

What does your website stand for? Google gets the main agenda of your website by the content you post on your website. Content has grown in importance and is now the most important factor being indexed. And not just any writings, but the quality of it all. Relevancy algorithms tether you to specifically deliver on quality. Anything below quality e.g. scant content, spun and duplicate content will take you nowhere but backwards.

Dominance

For Google to have some respect on your site, you must prove that you are worth it. Going for authoritative links is the best way to do that. You need diverse and websites of substance to link to. Again, you won't get quality links with poor content. Spam links have no place in online marketing these days. Got to stick by the rules.

It takes great effort to build Google's trust. Don't ruin it all once you get there. You know what I mean; be consistent even after winning the top ranks.
